Free Walking Tour of Edinburgh with Sandeman's New Europe

The tours start on the Royal Mile, next to the Frankie and Benny's restaurant. Just look for our team holding the RED UMBRELLAS. Tours start at 10AM, 11AM, 12PM, 1PM and 2PM This 2.5-hour* tour covers: Edinburgh CastleSt Giles’ CathedralHeart of MidlothianThe real Dr Jekyll and Mr HydeWilliam Wallace and the Stone of DestinyGreyfriars Kirkyard (cemetery) and Greyfriars BobbyThe Royal MileEdinburgh’s Old Town Mercat CrossNational MuseumCovenanters’ PrisonMartyrs’ MemorialThe Scottish Writers MuseumGrassmarketThe Hub...and much more! In the narrow streets of Edinburgh you were as likely to meet a murderer as a man of genius. Body-snatchers, witch hunters, firebrand priests and philosophers all living on the side of a dead volcano. Guides will take you down narrow alleyways, tell you the stories behind the history, and show you views which will define your trip to Scotland’s capital! This 2.5-hour walking tour covers all the main sights of the Old Town. The independent guides who employ us to market their tours conduct the FREE Tour on a tips-only basis, thereby guaranteeing that you receive a tour of the highest quality. They have a unique style of combining history with pure showmanship and this has made us one of the most popular walking tour companies in all of Europe. *Average tour length. The Edinburgh Free Tour usually ends by the National Museum of Scotland, by the Greyfriars Kirkyard or by the Writers Museum. The independent guides with whom we work have your best interests in mind; while the tour usually includes the sites and stories above and lasts this long, your tour may vary depending on what your guide thinks is best for your group! We are unable to accept groups of 10 or more on the Free Tour without prior notice. Groups of 10 or more should book a private tour, as it is the only way to guarantee your group will travel together (Private tours can be booked at http://www.neweuropetours.eu/edinburgh/en/private-tours). Alternatively, you can register your interest here and on the day your group may be evenly distributed across the available Free Tours at the discretion of the provider.
